William Whiffin was one of the great unsung London photographers,.
Born into a family of photographers in the East End, Whiffin made his living with studio portraits and commercial commissions, yet strove to be recognised for his artistic photography. His most memorable photographs were set across the landscape of London especially the East End.
Nowadays he would be regarded as an urban street photographer but then his camera equipment would have been large and very heavy.
*All the items I have for sale on EBAY originate from his unique personal collection.
Sadly much of his collection of everyday and many rare items were lost during "The Blitz" but some survived !
