Here for you a fine Ultra large format wide angle from the French maker Hermagis an alternative to the Zeiss anastigmat / protar, The Aplanat Grand Angle No.5 with a focal length of 36cm and 90 -100 degrees of coverage that adds up to alot from such a compact lens.  With excellent sharpness and contrast with good coverage, there are different recommended formats depending on which catalogue you look at, the one included in the photos is the most conservative with the No 5 rated for 40x50cm / 15x19" landscapes yet 90 - 100 degrees coverage would yield an image circle of 781mm - 858mm so over the minimum for 20x24" - 50x60cm.  The 14x17 format also a consideration for use with this lens.

A Hermagis Ultra Large Format Wide Angle with Beauty, Power and Endurance for your landscapes or even nudes on film or wet plate.

Condition

The brass barrel shows some loss of finish and patina in other areas, the rotary apertures works well. The glass excellent with no fungus or scratches just a small amount of edge separation to front and rear not effecting performance and a little dust. Sorry no caps but the elements will be protected when shipped. Sorry no flange but the threads are 56mm in diameter.

As an early French lens the apertures are marked in an older (french) scale starting at 4 that equals f/20, with 8 = f/27, 16 = f/40, 32 = f/51 and 64 = f/72 .
