Description:

Please find for offer a carved gilt wood shell, dating to the early 19th century. This finely carved shell can be used either as a dish or displayed suspended on a wall. Lovely original gilding that is worn through in places revealing the orange ochre bole colour beneath. Some condition issues listed below.

Dimensions:

Length across: 32.6cm. Width top to bottom: 27.8cm. Depth: 5cm approx.

Condition:

Broken in half vertically to the left side and fixed back together. The gilding is heavily rubbed in places. A few small areas of filling/overpaint. Age related wear as expected but displays well. Please examine photos carefully.
