Up for auction is this large attractively shaped cranberry shaded glass oil lamp font  .  There are the usual small bubbles that are normal in old glass. There are NO chips, cracks or nasty stains .

Font is 6 & 3/4  inches max diameter and 6& 1/4 inches overall height. Bottom is fitted with original brass undermount with 23mm (No 10 ) thread . Top is fitted with original screw duplex or 14 line size standard brass collar, collar is secure and well fitted .

The shape dates from the 1890s . The  glass is white, opaline glass overlaid with a cranberry glass layer, which shades down the font from rich strawberry at the top tolightest pink tint at the bottom.  Font is hand painted with flowers and simple foliage around the centre portion
