The arena of politics within the state of Louisiana is truly a world of its own, with its own array of colorful characters and leaders, past and present. This lot features a fantastic original light cardboard campaign poster produced in support of one of Louisiana's colorful array of leaders over the years, Speedy O. Long. A direct relative of other members of the Long family, including infamous Governor Huey P.  Long, this poster comes from a 1971 gubernatorial election in which Speedy Long ran for the office himself. You can read up on a bit more information about this member of the Long family and his political career in Louisiana in a few of the latter images in this listing. This original poster measures 14 and 1/2 in wide by 22 in high. It does have one hole in each corner, apparently where mounting pegs or thumbtacks may have originally held it onto a telephone pole.
