The text retells the story of the the first settlers to Hensley Settlement starting in the 1800s. There are chapters on house building, school days, kitchen life, home life and hunting and fishing. The print is bold and easy to read. It was noted that the author Mr. Cox is Chief of Interpretation of Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. The binding is good and stapled. No dust jacket was issued.
