A rare unique piece of history from the Victorian Edwardian era
The parasol dates from a bygone age when ladies were dressed so elegantly

It is made from black silk with a black cotton lining and tassels and possibly was a mourning parasol
The handle is ornately engraved and, assuming by it's age, is probably made from ivory.  It folds in 2 by sliding the brass collar upwards and then folds in half using a small ornate hinge.
The metal supporting framework is intact and fully functional with a supporting clip to keep the parasol open.

2 of the seams have parted at the very top, which maybe there is someone with the skills to repair this and conserve a beautiful parasol from a bygone era.
The top finial which normally holds the ring is unfortunately damaged, but the ring is present.
Please see all photos which show it's condition, bearing in mind it is over 100 years old and possibly 150 years.

A very collectable item or, maybe, for use as a theatrical prop.

Many thanks for looking.
