Description

An absolutely adorable 1950’s party dress in a combination of hot pink and white chiffon. The style typifies the 50’s - oh so feminine and figure flattering – with a bust enhancing bodice - perfect to accentuate the waistline. There are two layers to the skirt – an ivory satin acetate lining, topped by a floating layer of white chiffon. No maker’s label, but a faded vintage style tag confirms this dress was commercially made. No fabric contents label, but this likely a synthetic blend.

Note the special details on this lovely dress – flattering scoop neckline, barely there white chiffon spaghetti straps, chiffon bodice decorated with aurora borealis sequins in a swirling pattern and hot pink floral clusters, ruched hot pink chiffon cummerbund, and twirling full skirt. The dress is photographed using a crinoline to show the skirt to full advantage – the crinoline is not included.

The dress closes down the centre back with a hidden metal zipper. The entire dress is lined in ivory acetate.

No vintage size label so please see measurements below for proper fit. This is a small size, which would best fit a modern size 2 or 4, possibly a small size 6.

Condition

This dress is in excellent vintage condition. No holes or stains and underarms are clean. The sequin decoration appears intact. The white chiffon is still crisp and clean. Of course there are a few of the snags and picks typical of chiffon skirts of this era. No significant defects to note.

Returns

All items are sold as final sales, unless a significant flaw has inadvertently not been disclosed. I do my best to accurately describe every item and any significant flaws will be mentioned in the description. Of course it is possible to overlook something and if this occurs, please contact me as soon as possible and I will do my best to resolve the issue. I cannot accept returns for items that do not fit – measurements are taken carefully so please ensure that these match your own before bidding.

Please keep in mind that vintage items are not new, and as such are rarely in perfect condition. Unless otherwise stated, all items have been worn and show some degree of wear. Small imperfections are inherent in vintage garments and add character to the pieces.

Shipping

Unless otherwise requested, all Canadian and US shipments will be shipped expedited parcel via Canada Post, with tracking and insurance. I do not charge handling fees so all prices reflect actual mailing costs.

International buyers are welcome. International shipments will be priced on an individual basis and generally will be higher. If you would like an international shipping quote before purchasing, please send me an email.
