The M1859 US regulation spurs were the standard spurs issued to enlisted cavalry and horse artillery during the Civil War and Early Indian Wars. These spurs were also used extensively by the Confederate mounted troops. The spurs are made of cast brass with steel rowels. The Type 1 have the FLAT heel strap. The shank comes off the top of the strap and goes almost straight back to the rowel.
