Up for auction is this pair of corinthian column candlesticks, in nickel plated ( possibly 'german silver' ) finish on brass. They stand 5&3/4 inches high on bases 3&1/4 inches square. Sockets are 22mm internal diameter, and accept the spring bases of smaller oil 'peg' lamps as shown .  Please note, peg fonts shown in last picture are for demonstration only and are NOT included in sale .

The tops are removabe for cleaning, also making the sockets a little larger if removed.

Bases are weighted , with pitch ? suggesting these are quite old, in the manner used on earlier sheffield plate silver sticks.

No splits or dents to sticks, stand straight, one of the removable capitols has slight bend  and small split.
