Vintage (1922) Small Brass Postal Letter Scales On Wooden Plinth With Weights

8" length, 4" tall.

Weights: 8oz; 4oz; 2x 2oz; 1oz; 2x ½oz; ¼oz

I believe these scales belonged to my great aunts; anyway, they came down through my late father's family.

Looking on the site of the The Great Britain Philatelic Society, the Postal Rates as listed on the letter side of the balance reflect the prices current in 1922  (29 May), ie:
