Description:

Please find for offer an excellent German carved fruitwood Corpus Christi, dating to the mid 18th century or possibly earlier. This fine carving has carefully observed anatomy and intricately carved detail to the face, crown of thorns, drapery, the hands and feet. The piece is superb quality and has an attractive colour and patina. There is an old hanging loop to the reverse for display.

Dimensions:

Height (head to toes): 35.4cm. Width (hands to hands): 31.7cm.

Condition:

2 fingers on right hand missing. 4 fingers on left hand missing. Toes on left foot glued (hard to notice). Small part of crown of thorns restored (his right side). Age related wear as expected but overall in good condition. Please examine photos carefully.
