With the second release of the "America the Free" series issued by the Solomon Islands, this exquisite Liberty Bell-shaped coin is struck in 2 ounces of .9999 silver with partial colorization and a dazzling proof-like finish. The iconic Liberty Bell is a famous symbol of American independence and freedom; however, no one living today has ever heard the ringing of the bell. It's unsure when the bell first cracked, but the story goes that after hard use for nearly a century, a narrow split appeared sometime during the 1840s. When attempting to repair the bell in time for George Washington's birthday holiday in 1846, the crack was intentionally widened in an effort to prevent the crack from getting worse. Unfortunately, this attempt proved to be unsuccessful, forever silencing the famous Liberty Bell. Though the sound of bell has not been heard in some time, the coin's inscription "Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof" still rings true today.

Holding a legal-tender of $5 and struck by PAMP Suisse the coin features the phrase "AMERICA THE FREE," as well as the classic red, white, and blue "Stars & Stripes" of the American Flag draped across the Liberty Bell. Even more amazingly, several prominent moments of America's early history, such as: Paul Revere's midnight ride, the Charter of Privileges, and Independence Hall are illustrated within the folds of the flag. As for the obverse, the same famous words that can be found inscribed on the actual Liberty Bell itself, are also found inscribed on the coin's brilliant and reflective finish. The obverse also features a small portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in addition to the denomination and year.
