First, let me state upfront that this watch doesn't charge anymore. Likely a dead battery given the span of time and lack of use. This isn't being sold for someone to activate and use. This is a collectible only.

For sale is a MICA (My Intelligent Communication Accessory) smart watch by Intel. This watch was released in 2014 and was as much a fashion statement as it was a functional watch. This is the black version which is finished in 24K gold plating, black water snake skin, cultured pearls, lapis lazuli stone. The design was done in cooperation with the fashion house Opening Ceremony. Charging is done via a hidden micro USB port inside the watch clasp (see photo).

This watch has a 3G modem inside which is no longer supported by any US carrier. It was originally sold exclusively at Barneys with an AT&T chip inside. This one is in good condition. It's never been worn (stickers are intact), but it's been moved around storage boxes quite a bit and so show scratches on the gold surface.

This watch was a complete sales flop. The biggest reason being the $495 price tag. But selling it at a clothing store also played a part. Further, this smartwatch wasn't that smart. It lacked many of the features available on Samsung smartwatches at a fraction of the price. I believe they sold less than 1,000 units and Intel took a bath on it.

Finding one of these is pretty rare now. While it doesn't work, it can still be a great part of anyone's cellular technology collection. How often are you going to come across one of these for sale? Email me if you have questions.
