Die erste Ausgabe der neuen Serie Prehistoric Life II. aus dem Kongo ist dem Triceratops gewidmet. Auf dem Motiv der Münze aus 0,5 Gramm 99,99% reinem Gold ist ein Triceratops in einer urzeitlichen Landschaft zu sehen. Oberhalb des Dinosauriers sind die Inschriften "PREHISTORIC LIFE", "TRICERATOPS", "68 - 66 MIO YEARS BC" und das Ausgabejahr 2024 zu sehen. Auf der Rückseite ist das Wappen der Demokratischen Republik Kongo abgebildet. Der Triceratops lebte am Ende der Oberkreide-Zeit im heutigen Nordamerika. Er zählt zu der Gattung der Vogelbeckendinosaurier, die durch ihre Hörner sowie ihr Nackenschild charakterisiert waren. Mit einer Länge von 9 Metern und einem Gewicht von bis 12 Tonnen ist er der größte und bekannteste Saurier seiner Art.
