Description: The first printing of the first edition. Original hardback in original dustwrapper.  

The dustwrapper has some toning, wear, and chipping, a tear to the top left of the front cover, and some darkening and two tears to the spine (see pictures).  Neatly price-clipped to the inside front flap. The book itself is in very attractive condition, with bright spine titles and some fraying to the top spine-end (see pictures).  Small neat ownership inscription  "Jill Xmas 1933" to second front endpaper. Internally clean and bright. Binding sound and square.  

A nice original example of the first printing, in the uncommon original first printing jacket. Scarce.
