Maker: This set of 4 beautiful bread and butter plates is by America's iconic maker Lenox.

Age: Lenox produced the sophisticated pattern called Essex Maroon between 1938 and 1978. Between 1906 and 1930, the company had used a green wreath back stamp. In 1931, the phrase "Made in the USA" was added to the mark. In 1953, the wreath color changed to gold.

These plates have the gold wreath mark with "Made in the USA". That means they were produced between 1953, when the wreath mark turned gold, and 1978 when the pattern was discontinued.

Design: Essex Maroon features a band of elegant gold scrolls and leaves with maroon accents. These plates are in the smooth edged version.

Condition: They are in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, scratches, cracks, stains, utensil marks, repairs or wear. The rims are lightly discolored from the use of foam plate protectors - they are shown in the photos.

Size: The plates are 6 1/4 inches wide and together weigh 1 pound 7 ounces.

Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
