For sale is a 45 RPM vinyl single by Oliver titled "Everybody Wants to Be The Boss (Stereo) b/w Mono Version", originally released in 1982 by MCA Records, as a promotional copy, not for sale. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve, then into a storage box for 45 RPM singles, that was kept under optimum conditions for both temperature and humidity. The generic inner sleeve is graded as Very Good because of foxing around the edges and small tears along the top opening. The archival inner sleeve is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any sleeve marks, surface scratches or scuffs. I'm play grading this record as Near Mint. It plays all the way through without any surface noise, pops, skips or lock-ups from start to finish. In the dead wax before the labels but after the track's ending, is machine stamped an upper case "P" between two diamonds (<>-P-<>), followed by the matrix numbers W2/W2, indicating that early stampers were used to make this record at MCA Records' pressing plant, located in Pinckneyville, Illinois. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers because of their superior sound quality. You would be hard pressed to find a copy of this record in this condition, especially a Promotional pressing. This would be a welcome addition to anyone's collection.
