The first Lollapalooza music festival was held in 1991 as a traveling event to support Jane's Addiction's farewell tour. The festival was organized by Jane's Addiction's singer, Perry Farrell, and featured an unconventional lineup that included Jane's Addiction, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Living Colour, Nine Inch Nails, Ice-T, Butthole Surfers, Henry Rollins Band, Fishbone, and Violent Femmes.
