Object: This auction is for a lot of four 8-inch Denby "Romany Brown" salad/dessert plates in a coupe shape with speckled gold-brown glazes and dark brown rims. These are nice, generously sized plates that could also be used as luncheon plates.

Origin: England

Year:  1970-84, discontinued

Signed:  Black mfg mark on the bottom reads, "Denby, Made in England."

Pattern: Romany Brown

Color:  Rich speckled gold-brown with darker brown rims.

Material:  Stoneware pottery

Surface:  Smooth; semi-gloss; 2 unglazed foot rims on the bottom

Technique:  Factory produced

Features:  Generous size for salad, dessert, or luncheons; slightly recessed centers with flared rims; 2 unglazed foot rims on the bottom; mfg marked.

Condition:  Very good, vintage, used condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or surface wear to note. Most of our items are estate finds and are in good to excellent used condition.
