Royal Doulton THE JACKDAW OF RHEIMS 15" Charger Wall Plate

The plate represent Ingoldsby Legend of a thief who steals the Cardinal's Ring and is then cursed until he returns the ring. He eventually becomes so pious he is canonized on his death. The Jackdaw of Rheims is one of the Ingoldsby Legends, and comprises a series of tales written by Richard Harris Barham in 1840.
