For sale is this incredible piece of authentic red coral. You can see the pattern of the coral structure by looking on the ends. I believe this type of coral typically comes from around the Mediterranean and South Asia. This lot looks to be holed so it could be worn as a pendant or charm, but the hole is very small. Pieces like this are commonly used in jewelry (particularly in Europe and Asia). It could be carved into a different shape or cabbed. This one looks sharp! And it is relatively large (see photos). It is likely that this piece has undergone some kind of gemstone treatment in its past, but I’m not sure which specific type (it has likely undergone heating, oil, dying, or another treatment). It has been polished. Please make sure you understand these alterations before purchasing. Treated gemstones are more beautiful than their untreated forms, but are also less like them. This is a great piece! Perfect for collecting or using! It is truly incredible! Don’t pass it up!
