Do you consider this a 'chopper' or a 'scraper' for your collection of olde hearts? It was used for both chopping veggies and meat and to scrape dough in the past and as you probably know these are highly sought after kitchen tools and are getting very hard to find in original antique shape but this one is a rare survivor for sure and much larger than most of the others you will find out there anywhere right now. 

If you have been searching for one of these this one is fabulous and the pics don't do it justice but please study them and know it's MUCH better in person than they could ever show you. And this is bigger than it looks in the pics too. It measures about 12 inches long and is about 6.5 inches across the wide part of the blade. 

This was handmade back in the day and the heart has always been part of the original design and does not appear to have been cut later as there is appropriate wear and other marks that show it's been used just as it is. It has also been cleaned very well in the past and some of the marks on it are from that but I don't consider them an apology as it has the proper patina that is found only with natural aging over many years. The blade end is chamfered on both sides so it works to chop or scrape. The wooden handle does have some wear consistent from use over many years so please notice that in the pics also as you study them but again I don't consider this an apology as it shows the age of this sweet treasure. :)
