Vtg 1970's Detroit Artist Mary Ewald Christmas Ornament Angel Clothespin Doll Handmade 5" Sequined Wings

We have a large collection of Mary Ewald various art forms. Pen and Ink, canvas bags, and ornaments. She loved cats and many of her cat pieces are adorable and super whimsical.

Her art work was often showed at the Coach House Gallery that was located on Van Dyke Place in the West Village in Detroit, Michigan. Please see the last photo for an old newspaper article in reference to her showing at the gallery. Detroit Free Press dated Dec. 3, 1981.

This charming Christmas ornament/angel/doll is just precious. Handmade and hand painted. This sweet angel is beautiful in blue fabric and elaborate beige lace shawl. There are 4 blue sequins that adorn her dress. Her tiny hands are made of wood. The halo is silver sequins that fits over her blonde (yellow) yarn hair. Her wings are hand painted white clear sequins. A pink grosgrain bow tops off the front of her dress. The hemline along the front and back is finished off with the beige lace and blue sequins. Gold thread to hang her is 3' long.

This not signed by the artist. However, we know for certain this is a Mary Ewald This and all of our Mary Ewald ornaments are from the showing indicated in the newspaper ad.
