Arnold Begay is the Navajo weaver of this sand painting rug.
This measures 59"L x 59"W.
Arnold is 46 years old and the son of Arnold Begay Sr.
Arnold watched his father, a medicine man in ceremonies
create paintings in sand of the medicine man ceremonies.
Medicine men have several ceremonies that they perform for healing.
With each ceremony there is a sand painting.
From this, Arnold would take the designs his father would
create and recreate them into a weaving.
This is known as a sacred secret ceremony and is said
to be "taboo" to recreate this ceremony in any fashion or form.
This is a rare sand painting weaving.  More than likely a ceremony
was done just prior to the rug being woven
and then just after the rug was woven to ensure protection from illness or blindness.
This rug creates interest as well as intrigue as you display it on your wall or floor.
No one will have anything like it!

Thanks for looking!
