The white leather is finished with a white wax coating to protect it - this will come off when the bridle is wiped clean for the first time. White leather is notoriously difficult to make so please be aware it will not be the same high grade quality as black or brown FSS leather as it is designed for fashion first.

FSS use REAL Crystals to make their bridlework

These crystals are a super shimmery colour which change colour in the light, super sparkly as can be seen from the photographs. Each crystal is cut and faceted, much like a precious stone, by a special mechanical process perfected by Swarovski. This results in extremely "sharp" edges on each facet, and exact calibration of measurements so the facets produce the maximum sparkle and liveliness (refraction).These Crystals are absolutely the finest stones available, and are the standard against which all other rhinestones are judged.

This is not like the often cheap and 'homemade' faux crystal browbands you will find on eBay - this it the Real Deal. Suitable for most ridden pursuits, will not bang about on your horse's forehead or snap and perfect for using on those special occasion

Padded Headpiece Comfort Bridle - The latest design in comfort for your horse.

This bridle is made to reduce resistance by removing pressure to the horse's nervous system. The headpiece of the bridle, lying over a nerve-rich area, is cushioned to provide comfort and disperse pressure that can cause resistance to the bridle, freeing the horse from irritation at the poll as the bit is engaged.

CARING FOR WHITE/CREAM/IVORY LEATHER
Bridle leather is made from cow hide which is naturally varying shades of tan/brown in colour. To achieve different finished colours leather is usually darkened by dying. In order to achieve a white colour it is not possible to “dye” tan leather “white” in the traditional manner and so acrylic latex paint is usually applied to achieve a white colour. This means that white leather dries out much faster than normal leather as it cannot be treated with the normal leather oils/waxes/silicone products to keep the leather supple. Some cracking of the leather colour is normal and can easily be rectified by caring for the leather. A high quality white leather cream/conditioner should be applied regularly to the underside and sides of the leather (where it is more easily absorbed). Leather products that work well are ones that are designed for white leather furniture and car upholstery. To restore any faded or damaged areas a great quick and easy fix is trainer/sneaker/shoe whitener colour restorer (such as Kiwi). To clean white leather you need to use a good quality water based foam leather cleaner. White leather should be stored in a cool, dark place, away from sunlight, to help prevent the leather drying out and/or discolouring

CRYSTAL CARE
Crystals are delicate and must be handled with special care. To retain their full sparkle you will need to keep the crystals clean and dust free; crystal also do not like getting wet or covered in leather products so when caring for the browband leather please take care to avoid the crystals. To remove dust from the crystals use a clean dry brush like a toothbrush or make up brush. Brush gently to remove the dust on and between the crystals. For extra sparkle add a tiny touch of window/glass cleaner on a toothbrush to help clean the crystals themselves. Then to finish use a microfiber cloth or soft clean cloth to gently polish the crystals. Cover your crystal browband or keep it in a bridle bag when not in use to stop dust from settling on it.

Please take care that your horse does not rub its head when wearing a crystal browband as crystals are easily damaged or knocked out. You will need to took after the claws/settings that hold each crystal in place; after each ride check to make sure they haven’t been caught in the forelock and opened up. If they have opened up then gently press them back down using a pair of tweezers or similar. Do not counter flex a crystal browband as the crystals may press against each other and scratch, become damaged or the thread come off. If you accidentally lose a crystal please get in touch as we should be able to get replacements for you from FSS. Due to the delicate nature of crystals we cannot guarantee against any damages incurred after your receipt of the product however where possible FSS will offer a repair service as accidents do happen.
