# 81 GLOBES / LAMPS x 10 of,
as used in the late 1940's and most 1950's Seeburg juke boxes - typically underneath the mechanism carriage cover of the 100 & 200 series models in the 50's, and also in the "Trashcan" models 146 (1946), 147 (1947) and 148 (1948) where they are used to light the large red plastics - using other lamps which will physically fit there, BUT might - or more likely, WILL - cause your plastics to melt!!!!
They are also listed as being used in aviation - typically low voltage wing and tail lights; also used in some marine and automotive (car) applications and in vintage radios, some tube testers and some coin machines.
This # 81 miniature lamp/globe is scarce. NOT AT ALL EASY TO FIND OUT ON THE STREET!
SPECIAL NOTE: I have just had drawn to my attention, that an American vendor on eBay is selling one single solitary #81 lamp for US $99.95! Buy 10 of mine at AUS $23.99 (about US $19) and re-sell them and retire!!!!!
For the technically-minded: The # 81 type globe is 6.5 volts, 1.02 amp (= 6 cp = 6.6 to 7 watts). Base: Single Contact Bayonet BA15s (=9/16" or 14.2 mm dia.), Bulb G-6 (= 3/4" or 19 mm), Maximum Overall Length 1.44" (= 36.5 mm)
