This .925 silver ring is 3D, and the dorje spins like a prayer wheel if you turn it.  The dorje is about 3/4 of an inch long and sits up about 3/8 inch above the ring. It has a small faux coral or turquoise bead on either side of the dorje.  Please allow for some variation in the color of the stones as these are handmade and each has it's own unique character.

The dorje (vajra in Sanskrit), or thunderbolt, along with the ghanta, or bell, are key implements in Tibetan Buddhist practice.  They are used in almost every tantric ritual to represent the union of Wisdom (the ghanta) and skillful means (the dorje.)  The dorje represents the spiritual path, culminating in the realization of wisdom.  The dorje also represents the masculine, which in Tibetan Buddhism symbolizes compassion.

This item comes from Tibetan refugees in Dharamsala, India, home to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government-in-Exile.
