Here are high quality RIBBONS (check also my other sales) from a store,
an old Mercerie (Notion Store) in Paris (75011) which closed in 2000.
The owner didn't know what to do with all these vintage ribbons,
and so, she asked all her friends (including me) to come and pick up what they wanted.
All these years I kept those, but now I realize I will never use all of them.
The Notion Store was specialized in vintage quality ribbons and sewing items.
I am selling a part of my stash here on Ebay, and will add as much as I can, little by little.
They have a silky aspect, but I don't know what is their material, so no guarantee about the composition at all.
If you only want some silk, please don't buy them, since I cannot guarantee their composition.
One
of my buyers who makes clothes for dolls made a test to check their
composition and it seems that once the ribbons are washed, the test
gives a much better result. But I didn't check it myself, so no guarantee of anything, it still may be not silk.
Anyway,
these ribbons are much nicer and less stiff once washed, so please wash
them before using them, if you want to have them mellow, supple, softer
and gorgeous.
Since they are new, they are in great condition, however, some of them may have some dust, especially on the edges, because they remained a very long time in this store, exposed to the dust.
In that case, you will have to wash them preferably by hand before using them.
These Ribbons are rather shiny and soft on one side, and more dull on the other side.
They
are new and perfect, however some of them may show tiny imperfections
coming from the fabrication, that I can't see as they are still rolled
and have never been used before. I always try to send the perfect parts
but if I was missing something, I apologize in advance, and there is
always a way to fix a problem by contacting me. Thank you.
You have the choice here between 6 different colors and sizes (more are sold separately on my Ebay store):
1- Pale Blue (Bleu Ciel wide) 3 1/8" wide (very, very wide)
2- Sepia Pink Mauve (wide) (difficult to define the color which has a tendency to look different according to the light, but mostly Mauve Sepia) 1 5/8" wide (rather wide)
3- Pale Peachy Pink (wide) 1 5/8" wide (rather wide)
4- Sepia Pink Mauve (Medium) 13/16" wide
5- Black (Very thin or narrow) 7/16". This one will definitely need a wash, it has some dust on the edges.
6- White (Very thin or narrow) 7/16". This one will definitely need a wash too, it has some dust on the edges.
