SWISS CHARD - RAINBOW MIX - 8 GRAM ~ APPROX 370 FINEST SEEDS
Tender, sweet and prolific, this attractive and easy to grow Chard produces savoyed type leaves in different shades of green with bright stems in a palette of gold, crimson, pink, pink-and-white striped, purple, orange, scarlet, white and green. Young leaves are suitable for salads. Grows to 20in.

Swiss Chard does not transplant well and does best if the seeds are planted directly in the soil.

Sow about 6 seeds per foot directly into the garden as soon as soil can be worked in early spring to summer through mid spring. Cover seeds with 1/2 inch of fine soil.

When seedlings are 3 to 4 inches high thin to 8 to 12 inches apart. Use leaves from young thinned plants in salads.

Start cutting outer leaves when plants are about 8 inches tall for extended harvest, new leaves will grow out from the centre.

Cut back plants in late summer to rejuvenate them for fall production.

Swiss Chard is resistant to frost, and can be harvested well after first frost

Product Notes
The majority of our seed are now supplied in quality clearly labelled foils to ensure the freshness of seeds. A small number will be in sealed Ziplock pouches dues to seed size. Note cultivation advice is not attached on packets supplied as this allows us to keep packaging to a minimum and supply such high counts of quality seed at a fraction of high street prices. Full cultivation is provided above which can be copied or printed for those that require them.
