Safety - When polishing using the spindle adapters attached to the bench grinder suitable safety glasses must be worn

* Scratch Removal - If there are scratches in the item surface then a series of abrasive discs / pads (eg 500 to 2000 Grit) may need to be used first prior to the polishing process.

The Polishing Kit is supplied separately to the Bench Grinder and needs to be assembled / attached by the following method. 

Spindle Adapter Fitting
Once the bench grinder side guards and the grinding wheels have been removed (please note that the left hand grinder shaft has a left hand nut), the mop spindle adapters are then slid over the grinder shafts. There is a right hand and a left hand spindle adapter in the kit. Please remove the grub screws in the adapters first and then fit the adapters as far as they will go onto the shaft. Once fitted, reinsert the grub screws (one in each adapter) and tighten them using your allen key (not supplied).

2 x  Bench Grinder Spindle Adapters (1 x left and 1 x right)
These are used to attach polishing mops to the bench grinder. 
1 x 6" x 1" Sisal Metal Polishing Mop.
These are very fast cutting and hard, they are particularly useful for first stage heavy duty metal polishing operations on steels and soft metals including aluminium and brass. Sisal metal polishing mops will remove marks left from preparation operations. When polishing steels they are used with Black metal polishing compound and when polishing soft metals they are used with Brown metal polishing compound. 
1 x 6" x 1"  Colour Stitch Metal Polishing Mop.
These are versatile cutting metal polishing mops for general polishing. Colour stitch metal polishing mops can be used for first stage polishing with Brown metal polishing compound on soft metals or as a second process polishing on steels with Black metal polishing compound.
1 x 6" x 1" Loose Fold Polishing Mop
The most popular grade of finishing metal polishing mops made from 100% cotton. These are used for final polishing with Blue metal polishing compound on soft metals or Pink metal polishing compound on steels. 

1 x 100gms Black Polishing Compound Bar. Suitable for first stage polishing of copper, brass, ateel and stainless steel
1 x 100gms Blue Polishing Compound Bar. Suitable for final polishing of plastics, copper, steel and most metals.
1 x 100gms Brown Polishing Compound Bar. Suitable for first stage polishing of copper, aluminium, brass, and soft metals
1 x 100gms Green Polishing Compound Bar. Dual purpose compound for first stage polishing of soft metals and final buffing of hard metals.
1 x 100gms White Metal Polishing Compound Bar. Used for final high finish polishing on stainless steel.
