CODY POWDER PUFF MUSIC BOX

CODY POWDER PUFF MUSIC BOX. Four-inch diameter, 3" high (inclusive of the three short, turned-wood feet), the gray-green base metal shell with a circumferential design of a chain of blossoms, the removable dome with a photoengraved reproduction, in orange, brown and green, of what is perhaps a floral design, a powder puff within, manufacturer's label on the gilt-painted wood underside ("Cody Musical Creations Fifth Ave., New York"), an adjacent label bearing the faintly visible name of the tune played by the box ("Till the End of Time"). Original condition. Slight oxidation to the exterior surface; the dome could perhaps fit more snugly, as it comes detached when the box is upended; the powder puff is stained. A recent acquisition, this box played barely, then well, and now suddenly not at all; it is wound fully, and the wire starter (located circumferentially where the dome touches the box, and which activates the music when the dome is removed) is present.
