An exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique Georgian English sterling silver salver made by Hester Bateman; part of our collectable dining silverware collection

This exceptional antique George III sterling silver salver has a plain circular form.

The surface of this large Hester Bateman silver salver is embellished with a fine and impressive central oval bright cut engraved floral motif and leaf bordered vacant cartouche.

The raised rounded border is encircled with an impressive applied bead decoration to the rim.

The salver is supported by four bracket style feet embellished with further applied paralleling bead ornamentation.

This impressive Georgian silver salver, crafted by the renowned London female silversmith Hester Bateman, bears the silversmith's centre punch mark to the underside, in addition to the full hallmarks.

Condition

This antique salver is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The applied decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved decoration is crisp, in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the salver are all very clear.
