THOR is the red-haired and bearded God of Thunder in Norse mythology.
Thor was a much revered God of the ancient Germanic peoples for at
least a thousand years to the late Viking Age. Thor’s defiant symbol
was Mjöllnir or Thor’s hammer which he wielded ferociously in battle.
Mjöllnir is sometimes referred to as an axe or club. Myths, artifacts,
and institutions revolving around Thor indicate his prominent place in
the mind of medieval Scandinavians. His following ranged in influence,
but the Viking warrior aristocracy were particularly inspired by Thor's
ferocity in battle. Mjöllnir and amulet pendants dedicated to Thor where
found in ancient burials.
They were worn for protection & strength.

This Intricate Pewter piece features a Thor's Hammer Cross
& detailed Runes and is Swiss crafted.
Heavy Antique Copper Plated over Pewter.
It is Lead & Nickel Free.
Double Sided.
Strung on adjustable slip knoted black waxed cotton cord approx. 55cm
