Cedar is the medicine for protection. Cedar trees are very old, wise and powerful spirits. Cedar is often used to cleanse a home or apartment when 1st moving in, inviting unwanted spirits to leave and protecting a person, place or object from unwanted influences. This cedar sage measures 4.5 to 5 inches in length and is around 1.25 inches in diameter.
California White sage is from the coastal mountains of California. This is a large leaf sage which is prized for its rich aromatic properties. This sage has the one of the strongest scents and burns with a rich smoke. The use of sage is for healing. The smoke is used to bless, cleanse and heal the person or object being "smudged". Sage is used to "wash off" the outside world when one enters ceremony or other sacred space. Objects are likewise washed off with sage medicine smoke to rid them of unwanted influences.
Blue sage is also called Grey sage or Rocky Mountain sage but the color is a light grey blue and the aroma is of sweet mountain air or a light fresh fragrance. You will find Blue sage throughout Colorado and other mountain areas.
