SODIUM LAMPS HAVE EITHER AN INTERNAL OR AN EXTERNAL IGNITOR , THIS LAMP HAS AN INTERNAL IGNITOR WHICH MEANS THE LAMP HAS THE IGNITOR INSIDE. IF THE LAMP IS EXTERNAL IGNITOR IT MEANS THE IGNITOR IS IN THE FITTING. WE ALSO STOCK THIS TYPE OF LAMP IN OUR SHOP.
IF YOUR E27 SODIUM LAMP HAS A TRIANGLE CONTAINING AN "I" PRINTED ON THE LAMP GLASS THEN THIS LAMP WILL WORK IN YOUR FITTING. THIS MEANS THE LAMP NEEDS AN INTERNAL IGNITOR.
This lamp requires a ballast in the fitting to operate , fittings which are suitable for this lamp have the control gear inside the fitting .If this lamp is connected directly to the mains supply without a ballast or control gear it will blow up or trip out your fuse box . This lamp is intended to replace lamps such as SON-I or SON-TI with an internal ignitor.
