  • Why Buy Truly Moroccan Argan oil?

At Truly Moroccan we only sell the finest quality unrefined argan oil, at the best possible prices: 100% pure cosmetic grade argan oil with no other ingredients added – guaranteed. Our oil is argan oil in its purest form and is NOT DEODORISED. As required by law, Truly Moroccan argan oil is registered with the EU cosmetic products notification portal (CPNP) and is fully compliant with all current EU legislation for cosmetic products. We hold a full Cosmetic Product Safety Report for our argan oil, which was carried out by a UK based toxicologist.

We are a small family business who specialise in Moroccan products. Having grown up in Morocco, and still having immediate family there, we have been able to source the best quality argan oil available. We have developed a personal relationship with the families producing the oil and visit them in their village from time to time. The women of the village are responsible for the cultivation and harvesting of the argan nuts, which are collected and crushed by hand to remove the kernels, before being sent to the cooperative to be cold pressed by machine. We always buy our argan oil directly from the same cooperative, El Kheir, and purchase regularly throughout the year, to ensure the oil is always fresh and never remains in storage for long periods.

Our partner cooperative El Kheir hold EU organic products certification. Pure unrefined argan oil has a distinct slightly nutty, earthy scent, which varies in intensity from batch to batch, but which disappears a few minutes after application. If you have not used unrefined, organic argan oil before, you may find the scent unusual. Deodorised argan oil is subjected to intense heat and additives  and we have chosen not to stock it.

    The Benefits of Argan Oil

Argan oil is the ultimate beauty secret. It absorbs easily to give skin a radiant glow and has been shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, strengthen elasticity and improve your skin’s overall health and vitality.

Extremely rich in vitamin E and antioxidants,  argan oil is believed to help all sorts of skin conditions naturally: dry skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema, wrinkles…Please do not expect it to cure your skin condition, but it will help to manage the dryness and resulting itch. As a chronic eczema sufferer, I can vouch for its effectiveness in reducing my reliance on steroid creams. It has also been shown to fight free radicals, help reduce inflammation, and assist in protecting the skin from environment factors.

This remarkable oil has now come to the attention of well known brands of skin and hair care companies, and they are adding it to their products. However, most commercial products also contain chemical ingredients.

We are very proud to have thousands of happy customers and we invite you to read our feedback page.

    Instructions for use

Truly the ultimate natural beauty companion, this multipurpose wonder may be used to replenish moisture loss on face, hair, body and nails:

    • Apply a couple of drops to the face and neck morning and night. For particularly dry skin, use argan oil as a serum and apply first, followed by a day or night cream
    • Massage into cuticles and nails to strengthen them.
    • To use as a hair conditioner, warm a few drops in the palms of the hands and apply to the hair. Wrap the hair in a towel or shower cap for 20-30 minutes then shampoo as normal.
    • For very dry or damaged hair, apply a few drops to clean wet hair and style as normal.
    • Just a word of warning if you have been using products containing silicone (most anti-frizz products): You will need to wash your hair with a deep cleansing shampoo to remove product build up first. Silicone coats the surface of the hair and helps it look smooth and shiny. However, this coating prevents argan oil from being absorbed by the hair shaft and it will simply sit on the surface, making the hair lank.
    • For menMassage into your beard to smooth and condition it.
    • Apply to skin after shaving to soothe and prevent shaving rash.

    The Argan Tree

Argan oil is an oil produced from the kernels of the Argan tree, Argania Spinosa, endemic to Morocco, that is valued for its nutritive, cosmetic and numerous medicinal properties. The tree is extremely well adapted to drought and other environmentally difficult conditions of south western Morocco. The species argania once covered North Africa and is now endangered and under protection of UNESCO. The Argan tree grows wild in semi-desert soil, its deep root system helping to protect against soil erosion and the northern advance of the Sahara. Argan oil remains one of the rarest oils in the world due to the small and very specific growing areas.

Argan trees were first reported by the explorer Leo Africanus in 1510. An early specimen was cultivated by Lady Beaufort at Badminton House in 1711.

    U.K

We always dispatch promptly, usually the next working day, and always obtain proof of postage. We use 2nd class post as standard, which can take up to 5 working days (usually it is much quicker). If you require a faster delivery, please select 1st class post at checkout. Kindly remember that the ratings you are asked to give are for dispatch time not delivery time.
