You can make your own trees and bush ground cover for your model railraod using non flammable poly fiber fill material.Each 10 inch square zip lock bag contains approximately 3 oz of fiber fill that will make up to 30 trees in HO scale and cover about 2 square feet of ground cover.
The fiber fill material, as shown in the photos above, can be stained in diluted green latex paint, mixed according to your choice. The paint is diluted approximately 1 part paint to 4-5 parts water. A handfull of the Fiber Fill is soaked in the diluted paint, thoroughly squeezed to remove excess paint and then allowed to dry on absorbant paper towel.
The dry stained material can be used directly as ground cover glued onto mountains or hills or can be made into trees by glueing to a small twigs and branches found in the garden, parks or woods. (See steps in photos above)
