This is a Cisco CCIE Service Provider v5 Lab kit with 22 x CSR-1000v XE + 6 x XRv Routers (28 Routers total).

This Lab is based on the new Lab Topology being used by INE for their current CCIE SP v5 Bootcamp.

The new Topology uses 2 more XE Routers (22 total) and 2 more XR Routers (6 total) than the previous version.


It's built using a Quiet Dell R620 Server w/ 128GB RAM (up to 768GB) + 1TB SSD with VMware ESXi 6.5

The Dell R620 comes with 2 x Hex Core Processors (Xeon E5-2620 or higher).


This Lab is based on the recommendations made by INE (Inter Network Expert) for the CCIE SP v5

Some Lab Exercises are still based on the previous Topology (for the v4.1 version).

Therefore, we have setup this Lab with BOTH Topologies, so that you can do any type of Lab Exercises

The previous Topology (4.1) is just a subset of the new one (24 Routers instead of 28).


Core Routers are instances of the Cisco XRv Virtual Router Software with IOS XR ver 6.1.2

All other 22 XE Routers are instances of the Cisco CSR-1000v Virtual Router Software with IOS XE ver 16.9.5

The Lab has been fully configured to provide Reverse Telnet access to all Routers using any Telnet Software (i.e: Secure CRT Terminal)

Important Note: This item requires a Processing Time of 3-4 business days. Therefore, it could take up to 4 days to actually ship this item

Please notice that a Monitor is not included. You'll need a Monitor and a Keyboard to operate this Server.


Additional VM's:

Although this Lab is built directly on top of ESXi, it also includes several Emulation VM's  that provide alternate ways to build a Virtual Lab.

These are the additional VM's included in this Lab:

- EVE-NG Comm. Edition ver 2.0.3-112
- Cisco CML-2 ver 2.1.2 (without a License)
- Windows Server 2012 (with 180-Day Demo License)


CML Main Features:

VIRL was the original Emulation Software that Cisco released a few years ago, but later it was replaced by CML-2.

Since VIRL has been now deprecated, this Lab includes only includes a CML-2 VM.  

But CML is not fully activated (Software installed only), because it requires a License.

However, if you want to use it, all you'll have to do is to buy the proper License and then activate it.

Licenses are sold directly by Cisco.  The price for a 1-Year CML License for $200.

If you already have a License, we can activate it for you!


EVE-NG Main Features:

EVE-NG (Emulated Virtual Environment-Next Generation) is a Free, Open Source Software that like VIRL/CML, can be used to simulate complex networks.

The main advantage of EVE-NG over CML is the fact that while CML provides a Cisco-only environment, EVE-NG is NOT limited to Cisco Devices!

Therefore, with EVE-NG you can emulate a complex Multi-vendor environment!

Since EVE-NG (Comm. Edition) doesn't need a License, this VM can be used right away.


But please keep in mind that you don't need to use either of these Virtual Machines!

All the Virtual Routers in this Lab is built directly on top of ESXi, so the use of EVE-NG or CML is completely optional.
