Laptop screen replacement requires technical knowledge and prior training in professional replacement & installation. Inexperienced/untried buyers attempting replacement do so at their own risk as incorrect procedures can result in damage to the screen or, even worse, the laptop and furthermore void the warranty on both. Please seek a qualified professional to undertake replacement for you. We offer a professional installation service where you can mail your laptop in, we do the work and mail it back to you - ask us for a quote.

We provide compatibility information as a guide only. Laptop models can have many different configurations for the same model numbers.  It is not uncommon for the same laptop to have several possible screens. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the size & resolution match what is on offer and are correct for their application prior to purchase. If in doubt - please ask as we do not want you to make an incorrect purchase .

We use Australia Post approved specialised packaging to ship your screen and in 97% of cases, the screen arrives in tact. Transit insurance is a highly recommended option that is offered for your peace of mind as we have no control over how the package is handled once it leaves our possession. If you do not take the option and damage in transit occurs, you will not have cover for damage in transit. In the unlikely event your LCD Panel arrives cracked/broken as a result of transit mishandling damage and you have taken up the insurance option, you must report it to us within 24 hours of delivery to qualify for cover. Unfortunately, reports of this nature beyond 24 hours will not be accepted by Australia Post nor ourselves.

Some things to keep in mind when buying our LCD screens.

Brackets rails etc are not included, it is just the panel, 4 straight sides with nothing hanging off it. It will have the screw holes in the right places for it to be mounted to the side rails on our laptop. Laptop companies such as Dell often order their frames with additional brackets attached or additional holes put in. These are technically non essential and a method to try and force people into replacing screens only through them. If your current screen has extra brackets on top or the bottom, they are non essential (like a chair with 5 legs). If your inverter is mounted on a bracket, the bracket is non essential, you can use electrician tape which is common industry practice. As long as you have selected the right size, resolution and illumination, the screen we supply you will fit correctly and work accordingly.

Laptop manufacturers use several LCD manufactuers to supply them with LCDs for their production. It is not uncommon for the same make and model of laptop to have different makes and model numbers of LCD panels

We don't mind if you want to save money and DIY when fitting but please ensure that you have a service guide in front of you and have followed the steps correctly and if you have selected the right screen and followed the right steps, you will be up and running in no time. However, keep in mind that we do offer a professional service, we are trained in installation and repair and you can always utilise our service at the prescribed fee.

Checking if you are ordering the right screen

Screen Size: Measure from bottom left corner to top right corner, this is the diagonal pitch and how screens are designated. A 15.4" screen will be 15.4" diagonal pitch. Some laptop models will have 4 different sizes of screen applicable.

Screen Resolution: Screens come in various resolutions and some laptop models will have several resolution options, 4 different resolutions for a single model is not uncommon. If you choose a replacement screen with a different resolution than your existing one, it will not work because different resolutions require different video cables to operate. If you plan to upgrade to a higher resolution screen, you will need a higher resolution video flex ribbon/cable so you need to check your laptop manufacturer for availability.

Below is a table of the resolutions of most modern laptop screens:

XGA 1024x748   WXGA 1280x800   WSXGA 1440x900
SXGA+ 1400x1050   WXGA HD 1366x768   WSXGA+ 1680x1050
UXGA 1600x1200   WXGA+ 1440x900   WUXGA 1920x1200

Illumination: The most common is a single bulb CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) and this is the backlight of your screen. A few laptops will have a dual lamp version installed. In more recent times, laptop manufacturers have moved towards LED backlighting and, again, it is not uncommon for the same laptop model number to have one or the other . Your laptop manual and specifications should tell you if you have an LED screen and you can't use a CCFL screen in its place (again) without changing cables.

Finally: If in doubt , just simply ask us. Supply your model/product number and serial number/service tag and if we have access to the details we can check for you. It is better that you ask and get it right than buy the wrong item and face needless costs and problems. We specialise in laptops , their repair and their replacement parts so you are dealing with experienced professionals that you can trust.
