Original Ta-Grut Buddhist Wristband: Luck and Protection

Worn for many purposes including Luck, Protection, Positive Alignment, Meditation, Mindfulness, Yoga Support and Friendship our original wristbands continue to be very popular locally and throughout the world.

Each wristband is crafted by hand with love and good Karma using reclaimed original specification materials where possible and true to the generations old, original Buddhist design. Locally, our hand crafters work with Buddhist Temples which use the same original wristbands in ceremonies and personal blessings.

Once completed the Wristband is blessed and sealed with a personal touch from the maker before being exported to the UK, held in stock by our friends (to save the buyer from issues with import and shipping) and then quickly sent to its new owner once selected by them.

The handcraft process and blessing are intended to charge the wristband with positive energy, which throughout history is believed to align the wearer with good luck and protection. Those with an alignment to spirituality, energy and Karma often feel the positive energy in these objects as well as specific people and places.

Sometimes referred to as Sai Sin (a single use length of blessed organic thread tied to the wrists of guests at a gathering, ceremony or blessing) our original wristbands are far more robust, designed for long-term wear, benefit and enjoyment and most importantly are woven through a Ta-Grut (Amulet).

Ta-Grut is most commonly a small scroll of metal or a carved wood. In rarer form, the Ta-Grut is made from a live fired bullet casing, which is locally favoured by those with a greater need for protection and security, it is also considered cool by many wearers.

There are many stories of protection and good fortune associated with the wearing of Ta Grut and amulets well known throughout Thailand, South East Asia and the world.

The craft is often practiced in social groups where skills and income are shared. Our crafters are commissioned due to their unique skills and enjoyment of creating items that people take pleasure from, the income they receive is far greater than they could earn alone.
