These coins are from the time of England’s King George VI and the young Elizabeth.

The farthing, with its lovely English wren, was the smallest coin of the realm, worth a quarter of a penny. They were only minted between 1928 and 1956 and of course predate decimal coinage. They are a little bigger than a penny and have been polished, carefully domed to bring out the design and lacquered to retard tarnish.

You can request flat coins if you prefer but we love the look of domed coins!
