This Cotton Velveteen is a type of woven tufted fabric in which the cut threads are evenly distributed, 
with a short dense pile, giving it a distinctive soft feel. It has a luxurious look with a dull sheen. It is traditionally used in Irish dancing dresses and Historical costumes.

THIS FABRIC HAS NO STRETCH 

These plain coloured high quality velvet fabrics are perfect for dressmaking projects, but also for many crafts including cushions and light upholstery projects such as lampshades. This is a 'flat' velvet as opposed to a crushed velvet, so it has an even texture. 
We stock the traditional colours only, all are displayed on this listing. 

We recommend that you pre-wash your velvet before cutting or sewing on a 30 degree wash with a colour catcher sheet to remove an colour bleeding. When dry, iron on the back of the fabric to protect the pile. 



This fabric is sold in increments of Half Metre and Metre.
Add to your basket to create your desired lengths.

Multiple purchases will ALWAYS be cut as one full length from the bolt and NOT as individual pieces

We are a family-run independent craft shop called The Cheap Shop, and we are based in the village of Tiptree in Essex, England.

Shipping Information
UK POSTAGE:
For UK postage, we always send our items by Royal Mail 2nd class, however each of our listings has the option to upgrade to 1st class or 24 hour courier. Please note that a parcel can only delivered by courier within 24 hours if we receive the order by 11am. 
We always aim to send our parcels the same day if purchased by 1pm. 
We ship on Monday - Friday ONLY. 
Any orders placed between 1pm on a Friday and Midnight on a Sunday will be shipped on Monday.
This includes 1st class and 24 hour courier parcels
