An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver revolving breakfast dish; an addition to our silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver breakfast dish has an oval domed shaped form.
The surface of the piece is plain and unemellished, with an impressive applied gadroon decorated border paralleling the rim.
The revolving cover is secured to the frame with sterling silver screw fittings at either end and encompassed with an impressive pair of gadroon decorated handles.
The anterior edge of the cover is fitted with a plain rounded handle featuring the original button thumbpiece.
The cover revolves to reveal the original hallmarked oval warming tray and drip pan.
The plain warming tray is embellished with pieced cross decoration in a quatrefoil formation accented with a an oval border of lobed motifs.
The surface of the drip pan is plain and unembellished.
This antique dish has a plain oval frame supported by four cast sterling silver elongated legs ornamented with scroll and gadroon decoration to the upper portion and terminating with paw style feet.
Condition
This Edwardian silver breakfast serving dish is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
Each dish has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition in eeping with age.
Full hallmarks struck to the interior of the dish and underside of each internal dish, in addition to the part hallmarks to the surface of the cover and screw fittings are all very clear.
