Pharma Nord Bio-Pycnogenol 40mg Tablets

Pycnogenol is a unique plant extract derived from the bark of Maritime Pine Trees grown in sustainable forests in south-western France.

Pharma Nord Bio-Pycnogenol contains French maritime bark (Pinus pinaster) which works as an antioxidant by protecting cells from oxidative damage caused by free radicals (chemicals that are created by our own metabolism as well as from environmental factors such as smoking, air pollution and UV light exposure). Pharma Nord Bio-Pycnogenol is a natural source of proathrocyanadins.

What does Pycnogenol do?
Pycnogenol is a potent antioxidant, with an antioxidant activity approximately fifty times that of vitamin C. Because of the chemical structure of Pycnogenol, it can be incorporated into and protect both the aqueous (cytoplasmic) and lipid (cell membrane) phases of cells from damage by free radicals. Pycnogenol also promotes increased availability of vitamin C within the body.

Pharma Nord Bio-Pycnogenol may help maintain a normal response by the body to allergic or inflammatory challenge.

Suggested Use

Pharma Nord recommends the following:
First week: 2 tablets twice per day or as directed by a physician.
Thereafter: 1 tablet twice daily or as directed by a physician.

The generally recommended intake for pine bark extract is 40-160mg per day. It is rapidly absorbed and distributed around the body in about 30 minutes.

Other Ingredients

Microcrystalline cellulose, Maltodextrin, Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, Tricalcium phosphate, Magnesium stearate.

Warnings / Contraindications

There are no known adverse effects or drug contra-indications from taking Pycnogenol. Pregnant or lactating women and those on medication should consult a doctor before using any product.
