How do I know if my Game Boy Advance is a 32pin or 40pin connector version?
Remove the battery compartment cover, and you will see printed in white lettering a line of numbers, just where the locking tab of the battery cover clips into place.
For a 40 pin screen connector Game Boy Advance the first number is “0”
For a 32 pin screen connector Game Boy Advance the first number is “1”
WHICH ADAPTOR DO I NEED?
The "32 pin" adapter will fit 32 PIN Game Boy Advance consoles.
The "40 pin" adapter will fit 40 PIN Game Boy Advance Consoles. Note - This cable also requires you to modify the motherboard to get the screen working correctly (we do not recommend you purchase these adaptors unless you are an experienced installer)
The "40 pin TYPE B" adapter will fit 40 PIN Game Boy Advance Consoles. This cable doesn't require any modding of the motherboard and is much easier to install than the regular 40 PIN adapter.
The 40pin (Type B) Cable can be installed without any soldering. For increased Brightness, solder to DA1 leg on GBA Motherboard.
