The Hasselblad / ZEISS 105mm f/4.3 UV-SONNAR is a special design consisting of fluorite and quartz elements with excellent light transmission in the ultraviolet region of the spectrum.

 

The lens also features extensive chromatic correction both in the ultraviolet as well as the visible ranges, as well as the near-Infrared and is therefore suitable for use the UV+VIS+IR ranges (optimal from 215nm to 700nm).

 

The UV-SONNAR features high image quality and superb distortion correction throughout the wide range tram UV to VIS. Other lenses have longitudinal aberration requiring that different focusing be used to focus on different spectra. The UV-SONNAR is different; it is matched across its multi-spectral range of photography, so focusing can be performed using visible light without the need tor further adjustment.

 

Fields of application include technical and scientific photography, such as studies of textiles, printing forgeries and all

types of material examination. A field of special interest for the UV-SONNAR is extraterrestrial UV photography.
