BRAKEBOARD Rat 30" | Minicruiser mit Bremssystem

Die "Ratte" ist ein 30 Zoll langer Plastikcruiser mit dem bewährten Bremssystem vom australischen Hersteller Brakeboard.

In der hinteren 150mm Achse sind Scheibenbremsen verbaut, die mithilfe eines Pedals auf dem Deck bedient werden können. Somit lässt sich zuverlässig bremsen, was gerade für die Fahrer interessant ist, die beispielsweise mit schwerem Rucksack unterwegs sind und auch leichtes bis starkes Gefälle überwinden müssen, wo hartes Carven geschweige denn Slides nicht möglich sind. Natürlich kommen sie auch dem einen oder anderen Rollbrett-Rookie gelegen.

Das Deck - eine sehr leichte und stabile Zusammensetzung aus Polypropylen und Glasfaser - lässt Rollen bis zu 75mm Durchmesser zu. Wem die montierten Rollen nicht zusagen, kann diese gegen nahezu jede andere Rolle austauschen: hierzu muss nur mithilfe einer Feile der Rollenkern angepasst werden. Für die nötige Rutschfestigkeit auf dem Deck ist im Material eine Körnung integriert.

Ein weiteres Highlight: Wenn das Pedal mal stören sollte, lässt es sich mit wenigen Handgriffen demontieren und man kann ganz normal die komplette Decklänge nutzen.

Ín den neu überarbeiteten Bremsen der Ratte ist weniger Aluminium verbaut und es finden nun leichtere Rotoren aus rostfreiem Stahl Verwendung, was bei einem kürzeren Deck zu einer besseren Balance führt. Natürlich lassen sich die Achsen auch auf fast jedem anderen Skateboard-Deck montieren.

The Rat deck is inspired by my nostalgia for the boards I saw on every street corner in the 70's. Combined with today's modern materials this lightweight board is nimble and fast - perfect for tic-tacking along sidewalks and cruising with control down your local hill. 

The deck is a 30 x 9 inch single kick, small enough to carry around campus or public transport. It is made from a polypropylene-fibreglass composite for lighter weight whilst maintaining strength.

The trucks are a narrow 150mm with a 45 degree base. The hangers and bases are aluminium gravity cast and finished with precision cnc machining. The brake rotors and other parts are stainless steel to prevent corrosion. The axles are made from high-tensile steel for extra strength. The brake pads are made from high-end automobile heat resistant friction compounds, ensuring a long life.

The deck has clearance for wheels up to 75mm, plus in-built grip for a secure foot hold. The Rat's combo creates a very fast, smooth riding cruiser that is excellent for city streets, downhill runs or a ride at your local skate park

The Rat's new brakes use less aluminium and lighter stainless steel rotors, resulting in a better balance for the smaller board. The Rat brake pedal is half the size of its bigger brother, but maintains leverage and power. 

Like all our boards the brake pedal is easily removable for park riding. The 150mm Truck Set will also retro-fit most skateboard decks and wheels of your choice.
