General Installation Instructions:
Your decals are provided with
transfer-paper pre-applied from our facility. All you need for an
absolutely perfect install right in your own driveway are the
following household items:
- a temperature of 50(F) or higher
- bottle of Windex or equivalent window cleaner
- a few paper towels
- small plastic card (ATM/Credit Card)
To begin, clean the surface of the
vehicle
with Windex. This is a strong cleanser and will ensure that all the
wax and soap residue is removed from the side of the truck so the
decal adhesive can stick properly.
Second: Separate the decal from the
backing paper. Do this by peeling apart the transfer tape and
backing paper - which may already be starting to "curl" off each
other (this is good). What you'll have left is the decal stuck to
the transfer paper and the adhesive side exposed.
Third: Spray a misting of Windex on the spot
you want to place the decal. What this will do is provide a
"lubricant" for the decal to slide on so you can position it
perfectly, as well provide a way for the air bubbles to come out.
Finally: Once you have the decal aligned
to your liking, squeeze out all the leftover Windex fluid with your
ATM/Credit card, soaking up what comes out with the paper towels.
After you've got that all out, let it sit for at least an hour
(preferably over night)
so the adhesive will "take" to the side of the truck and then peel
off the transfer paper - and you're done!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on our decals
(Some of these questions may not apply to the specific decals in the
listing. This is a generic FAQ)
Q: Are
these the same decals that I would get at the dealer? (OE -
original equipment)
A: Almost. We
hold a license from GM as a licensed aftermarket manufacturer of
graphics and decals using their exact designs that they send to us.
The design and the colors are an extremely close match, but we can
not advertise them as OEM or being "exact" because we are not a
supplier to General Motors.
Q:
This is for a pair of decals - correct? So Qty 1 = 2 decals?
A: Yes.
Q: The
decals I get from the dealer have the installation "marks" on them.
Do these?
A: No. Our decals
are made to fit different trucks with the same decal, and since the
installation points are different on some of those, we are unable
to make the install point marks. We do include installation
instructions, as well as a link to our web site that gives even
more detailed installation help.
Q: Can
I install these over my existing factory graphics?
A: Absolutely not!
No decal is meant to be installed over an existing one. The original
decal must be removed first. The good news is that taking one off is
very easy. Check YouTube and Google for videos on how to remove a
decal. There's a ton of them out there.
Q: I
love this style, but have you got other color choices available?
A: We sure
do! If you look through our other listings any of the 4x4 and
Z71color options
are available. If we haven't got them posted on eBay yet, send us an
email and we can get a listing set up for that particular one.
