Akai S-900 Full Upgrade Kit: OS EPROM 1.2c + OS 4.0 System Boot Disk

• Included in this eBay listing is as follows: 2 EPROM chips required for the OS 1.2c upgrade and 1 OS 4.0 System Boot Disk.
• Both EPROM 1.2c as well as the OS 4.0 boot disk are the last issued system and software revisions issued by Akai Japan.
• Each EPROM is labeled accordingly so there should be no confusion which EPROM sockets the chips are to be installed to. The OS 4.0 System Boot Disk will of course be inserted in to the disk drive! J

Now, if your S-900 is already running in the v1.2 system series, there is honestly no reason to waste time and money in purchasing this upgrade. I have a separate eBay listing for those that only need the OS 4.0 System Boot Disk.

Pairing the OS 4.0 System Boot Disk with the v1.2c EPROM upgrade will bring your S-900 series sampler closer to the functionality of an S-950 series sampler:

• Pre-trigger recording / Special one shot mode / Cross fade looping
• Dynamic Filtering / Automatic locating of start point / Velocity release by note on
• Combine two samples for velocity cross fade type samples
• Changing the velocity mix curve for velocity cross fade / Time skew for velocity
• Key group copy function / Disk mode: Compression of sampled data

By the way – Contrary to internet rumors, there is no S-950 time stretch that will be magically enabled when using the OS 4.0 System Boot Disk with your S-900. There is nothing visibly contained in the OS 4.0 software code relating to time stretch. I am not sure why others are still reporting otherwise but some people love fairy tales I suppose.
